Understanding Your Goals and Priorities

We research your goals thoroughly, help you to prioritize them and then work toward achieving them through creative design solutions. If any design compromises are required, you the Client make the decision.  In this way you will fully understand how the final design has come about – there are no surprises.

Rough Order of Magnitude and Detailed Budgets

We use numerous approaches to cost estimating and the development of a Rough-Order-of-Magnitude (ROM) budget depending on the stage and specific nature of the project.  Outside estimators and/or in-house forces may be used depending on your needs and budget.

Schedule Control

Depending upon the complexity and nature of each project, a variety of management tools are employed to monitor and control the progress of our services.  No single management tool is appropriate for all projects, we utilize a range of schedule types from simple bar charts to complex network-sequencing and critical-activity diagrams.  We recognize that time is an integral part of our total professional performance.

Detail Oriented

MJP’s philosophy on drawings is to be as detailed as possible.  We develop detailed drawings of all plans and elevations early in the design development stage of a project.  We have found that this is the most effective way to communicate everything that is happening to the Client and later to the Contractor.  Most importantly, it provokes discussion between our office, our consultants, and our Clients.  The Client develops a deeper understanding of the challenges and alternatives that are present and ultimately guide the project design in the direction that best suits their needs.

Communication

Quality design comes from a collaboration of individuals.  The Architect’s role as a communicator of ideas, problems, goals and objectives is critical to a successful project.  We pride ourselves on our ability to inform, educate, and advise where necessary all members of the project team (Client and Consultant) on all pertinent issues.
